Mother Bracelet is an innovative wearable device that can track fitness, health and sleep with high precision and maximum quiet. Designed for MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies Inc., it was developed in collaboration with Matrix Industries and employs their proprietary thermoelectric technology. Mother Bracelet is entirely powered by body heat or solar energy, and needs no chargers. It charges continuously as the wearer keeps moving or exposes the bracelet to sunlight.
Ponti Design Studio developed the product design, branding and packaging. Mother Bracelet features a unibody case in anodized aluminum. Manufactured using CNC machining, the bracelet is precisely detailed, ultra light and extremely durable. The top glass protects a custom-designed solar panel and a clean, intuitive LED interface. The display was omitted in favor of a quieter, less invasive tracking experience. The bracelet can be controlled with the side button and from the wearer’s phone. The speckled black or white silicone strap is contemporary, easy to adjust and comfortable to wear both indoors and outdoors. The packaging is both sophisticated and practical: a cylinder box cinched by a metal ring with the logo reveals the bracelet and contains accessories and the instruction manual. The branding is minimal, emphasizing the experience and purpose, rather than the product itself.
Mother Bracelet comes in a 2-pack, as it is designed to be shared with loved ones and encourage healthy habits. It represents the next generation of smart and sustainable wearables that use renewable resources and resonate with the end users thanks to an effective and innovative user experience. In a feature-loaded market, we opted for a clean, minimalistic product that reduces the virtual user experience and emphasizes the real user experience: physical activity, caring for others, and the good feelings that come with that.
