Cresta is a sculptural bench inspired by the fluidity and rhythm of Sardinia’s sea, Andrea Ponti’s homeland. Italian for “crest,” the design captures the raw energy of water and the beauty of nature through a clear, contemporary aesthetic. Crafted from recycled resin, Cresta embraces sustainability with a carefully curated blend of recycled plastics, including PMMA, PET, PC, and PS. The bench is composed of two distinct elements: the top, designed to provide comfortable seating for two, and the bottom, an expressive wave-like base that defines its character and distinctive identity. Its form is elevated by a fine texture and a seamless gradient that transitions from a deep blue at the base to a crystal-clear transparency at the top. This combination of color, texture, and fluid form celebrates the power of nature while evoking the ever-changing rhythms of Sardinia’s sea.
