Designed in collaboration with KEF’s Product Design Team, the KEF XIO soundbar seamlessly combines sophisticated design with outstanding acoustic performance. The rectilinear design was selected from a variety of potential form factors for its ability to maximize acoustic volume while maintaining a minimal footprint, as well as for its timeless elegance. Throughout the design process, the goal was to create a product that not only integrates naturally into home environments but also elevates their overall quality, both visually and acoustically. This was achieved through a low-contrast, tonal CMF palette that seamlessly blends metal and fabric materials, emphasizing visual balance and celebrating simplicity. The innovative frameless design features large fabric surfaces that wrap around the front panel and sides, enclosing the drivers and creating a controlled, cohesive aesthetic. The fabric’s dual-tone weave adds depth and texture, enhancing the product’s understated elegance. The top panel, crafted from sandblasted aluminum, extends horizontally and incorporates a gentle chamfer to soften the transition around the center driver. The control panel is thoughtfully designed with domed touch controls for an intuitive tactile experience, complemented by LED indicators for volume and source selection. The KEF XIO can be used in both credenza and wall-mounted orientations and is available in two sophisticated color options: silver grey and slate black. Drawing on KEF’s renowned expertise in acoustic engineering, XIO combines timeless design with high-fidelity audio, delivering an unprecedented listening experience while blending seamlessly into any interior.
